Coach, LV, and Fendi Purses...Oh My!

- Emily

So, what is your purse type? Do you like certain brands? Do you just go for color? Feel of the leather? Or is it a culmination of a variety of factors?

I grew up with a mom who loves shop (and still does!!). She loves shoes, and especially purses. Well, I inherited the same gene for purses. I like nice purses. It's a bad habit, but one that I can't seem to break! It all started when I was 16. On Christmas morning, I opened up a Von Maur box that had a navy blue Dooney & Burke purse in it. Yep, I wanted a purse with that darn duck on it. And the rest is history.

Coach, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Brighton, Kate Spade, Burberry, Juicy Couture...I've had them all in my collection. And you know what? They have lasted. None of them have ever ripped, had the leather wear, had the stitching unravel. I still have the black Coach backpack from 1999, and it looks like brand new!!

I'm a mom. So I like big purses; preferably ones with lots of pockets on the inside. I have to have spots for my phone, big wallet, kid snacks, lotion, about 3 tubes of lip gloss, hand sanitizer, business card case, etc. I really find that Coach purses always have just the right amount of room and pockets. That brand has always been good to me. And what's great about that brand is they have TONS of outlets around the country, so they can become very affordable! And let's not forget that a ton of the high end brands have outlets or can be found in outlet stores like Off 5th and Nordstrom Rack.

When I was doing more photography when I lived back in the Midwest, I definitely used that extra money to buy a few purses that I normally wouldn't splurge on. I do have to say the best purse I purchased was my Louis Vuitton Never Full PM bag. It holds absolutely everything...but doesn't have very many pockets. I use it often as my large carryon to accompany my roller bag. But it is interesting how LV's prices have gone up in the last few years. This bag is $150 more now than when I bought it 4 years ago...not quite sure if I would spend that now...But I digress.

So what's your favorite brand? Biggest splurge? What's on your wish list?
